Introduction
Maintaining live birds in captivity is expensive, time consuming, and requires special expertise. The living conditions of birds should be appropriate for each species and contribute to their sound health and comfort. Information on this subject can be found in The American Federation of Aviculture's monthly magazine and in The Watchbird, which contains articles concerning the husbandry of a wide variety of birds and discussions of health problems and their treatments.
